EVERY OCTOBER

Every October that rolls around

Is just another reminder of you…

The navy night sky that whispers your name

Is merely a shade of blue

It feels so silly to think of it now

Was the love in your eyes ever true?

Whether two years ago

Or still to this day

I’ve never had even a clue

Aquamarine and deep forest green

Paint a portrait of our fate

With little reminders

And beginnings that bind us

It’s on my mind as of late…

I drown in the Atlantic

And thoughts that are frantic

Have you ever felt this way?

Maybe you’re just too young to care

Is it too much to ask you to stay?

Why am I still lingering… on this burnt out flame?

Should I be the one to take all the blame?

Is it just mother nature inflicting this pain?

I know myself, and I’ll be back here again…
