A STRANGE AND BEAUTIFUL CREATURE
Poem by Edwin Paez
Music by Piyush Tiwari
I awoke to the presence of no moon.
Darkness had eaten away at light till it was no more.
Perplexed,
I looked around and found salvation in two emerald worlds.
Mesmerized,
I was engulfed, completely thrown into your gravity.
Lost in this Universe for years, I knew no escape.
But scared I was not, for you, my strange and beautiful creature, brought love and passion,
Comfort and understanding
and an inexplicable need to never leave.
But what Eden I had found eventually became
a Monster
devouring yourself through jealousy and anger, eventually devouring me, too.
And so, slowly, I was consumed
Dissolved by the very Universe that I had grown to cherish.
My body evaporated, exposing my soul
and you, the Universe, took it without hesitation, admiring it in your delicate hands
until intrigued you were not, and like a child to an ant
Crushed me
Leaving infinite passion in a limbo of heartbreak and poetry.
